Slippery on Tower Ridge

Climbing Tower Ridge yesterday in superb Autumn weather. As we gained height, patches of snow and ice appeared. Early season snow will often make this route ‘tricky’ and neither summer nor winter. This was certainly the case above 1000metres. Crampons would not have made much difference and an ice axe was certainly not required.Eastern Traverse on Tower Ridge
‘Thrutching’ a little on the slippery walls of the fallen block pitch. This alleyway fills with snow in a good winter.
Soft and autumn colours on the north face approach.
A view across Observatory Ridge and North East Buttress, towards Aonach Beag.
