Whilst I was away

Saturday, July 23rd, 2011

Check out Spike Sellers. He has been running various scrambling and climbing courses for West Coast Mountain Guides whilst I was away working inĀ  the Alps. The slide set shown was on a scrambling course. Still space on a similar course. Details at. Thanks Spike.

Superb Weather

Thursday, January 20th, 2011

Thanks to Spike Sellers and James Thacker for sending these photos down to base this morning. Spike is up on Nevis and James is traversing the Aonach Eagach. Last night was very cold and today is just very splendid. Jon and Dan Gay triedĀ  ‘Ramsey’s Round’ last night under a full moon and clear skies. Unfortunately the snow was not solid enough to allow speedy movement and they finished this morning at Fersit.

Looks like good weather through next week. We have plenty of space at the bunkhouse.

Fine and Dry on the Aonach Eagach Ridge

Thursday, August 9th, 2007

Yesterday as part of Walklochaber week we managed the Aonach Eagach Ridge in near perfect weather, which was worth waiting for. The whole day was around 7/8 hours with plenty of rest stops along the way to enjoy the views. We were fortunate enough to see Red Deer, Golden Eagle and a group of Goats on the ridge. In thirty seven years of visiting this rocky spine I have never seen Goats up there before.
